the European tour that i looked up that is advertised to Americans was a tour of France, Italy, and Spain. In this tour it advertised for people to experience a variety of cultures and countries and a visit of classical sites, and Old Europeans art, architecture and medieval castles. this is a list of the tour highlights.
While when i visited a wedsite that offered tours of America is found one tour that was named Autumn colors a offered a tour of New Englands color and spectacular. In

this is a list of the New England tour highlights
When it comes to comparing the two tours it is alot more obvious that when a European is going on a trip to America the tours that are being offered to them are tours that are themed on the natural lanscape of the woods, mountains, wildlife, and national park. While on the other hand when tours are being advertised to Americans on Europe they offer up tours of European monuments, old castle and cathedrals. So it becomes a little apparent that when Europeans think of America they think of open land and forest and agriculture, not of old religious or national monuments. I think these tours are somewhat missing the mark when advertising tours about america we also have big cities with mounents that are incredible like the Empire state building or some of the sites in Washinton D.C. The French qaurters of New Orleans, the city of Las Vegas, and chicago, and we also offer up the natural open landscape like whats offered.
And we have history too (as students of history like us can vouch for)!
ReplyDeleteAll these trips advertised to national parks makes me wonder, are there federally-sanctioned parks or wildlife reserves in Europe? Why must Europeans come to America to see forests, beaches, and mountains when they clearly have those landforms in/near their home countries?
